Four Words, Every Day

I have tried four or five times to write about what's happening in healthcare with this COVID pandemic and words continue to fail me. I am not a front-line worker, but I feel the stress we're all going through. Still....

I am not a nurse or a patient care tech or a case manager.

I am not a physician or a respiratory therapist or a chaplain.

I do not work with patients or the families suffering from COVID.

But I work in healthcare, in IT. And these are the realities we face.

We are all affected. We are a team and we are in this together.

So, I vow to do everything I can, every day, to make a difference in whatever way I can. I start each day thinking about how to be the best leader I can and how to support my teams in the work they're doing. I make it a point to say YES as often as I can, to do whatever is needed to support those on the front lines. Often, it feels like I'm not making much of a difference at all, but it's what I can do.

So, every day, I show up and simply ask, "How can I help ?"
